Acceordâ€" ing to the despatches from that town, Mr. and Mrs. Guy and their fewâ€"monthsâ€"old baby are recuperating after a terrible experience and a very narrow escape from death. :On Wedâ€" nesday night last they were compelled to leave their yacht, Mopica, after it ad been erushed by ice in St. ‘Mary‘s iver. Mrs. Melntyre is being treatâ€" ed in a hospital, her legs having been badly frozen. Mr. iMelntyre and the baby, while suffering from exposure are not in as serious a condition as Mrs. Mcelntyre. When the boat sank the parents were compelled to leap into the water and cling to large cakes of ice. Melntyre, grasping the baby, managed to crawl on a solid cake, but Mrs, Melntyre was not sg fortunate. The cake on which she sought refuge continually tipped and swayed with the current and wind, and she was kept constantly drenched, _ For over thrse hours they floated this way; unâ€" til their cries for help were hsard by the coast guard at Oakridge Park, a mile and a half away, who rescued FAMILY HAD TO CLING TO ICE CAKES FOR THREE HOURS nem PORMER RESIDENTS OF SCHUMACHER BREREAVED. Their many friends in this Camp will deeply regret to learn of the reâ€" cent bereavement of Mr. and ‘Mrs. Roy Turner, formerly of Sehumacher, by the death of their 11â€"yearâ€"old daughter, Jennie Catherine, who passâ€" ed away on Monday, November 21st. An Edmonton newspaper of recent date says:â€"‘*‘The funeral was held at Brule on Tuesday afternoon, at four o‘clock, Mr. Roach officiating. _ The service was largely attended by her friends and little schoolmates who wished to pay their last tributes. Four of her chums acted as pallbearers. The remains were brought to the city on Wednesday morning‘s train and the funeral was held Wednesday afternon at 2.30 from Howard McBride‘s, Rev. Bainbridge officiâ€" ating. Interment was made in the Edmonton cemeteryv."‘ DEATH LAST WEEK OF MRS. VAILLANCOURT, NORTH BAY. Mrs. Marguerite Vailloncourt qaea on Tuesday, December otn, at the home of her daughter, iMrs. M. A. Walsh, 62 Perey street North Bay, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs Vailloncourt suffered from eancer and a few days before her death pneuâ€" monia developed which hastened thne end. Mrs. Vailloncourt had been a resident of North Bay for a couple of months, coming there from Englehart to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Walsh. â€" The late (Mrs. Vailloncourt was born at (Mount St. «Patrick some 62 years ago. Her husband died some years ago, and ‘three daughters and three sons survive. . The daughters are ‘Mrs. Geo. Tucker, of Haileybury ; Mrs. ‘M. Landers, of Cobalt; and iMrs. M.â€"_A. Walsh, of North Bay. ‘The sons surviving are William, of ‘Chiâ€" cago; George, of Detroit; and Joseph, of the T. N.O., ‘Timmins, â€" Four sisters,â€"Mrs. Belanger, of Espanola; Mrs. Laronde and Mrs. Robillard, of Romford ; and Mrs. Prevost, of Sudâ€" bury,â€"and four â€" brothers,â€"William Dubroy, of Coniston, and Alex.. Edâ€" ward, and Theodore Dubroy, of Sudâ€" bury,â€"also survive. To these and to the otlher near relatives and friends the sincere sympathy of all will go out in their bereavement. ‘The funâ€" eral took place on Tuesday morning to St. Vincent de Paul church, and after funeral mass was said by Rev.
