Mammothon On October 20, 2016 Halton Healthcare, in partnership with the Mississauga Halton Central West Regional Cancer Program, hosted Mammothon, a free breast screening event at all three of its hospitals. Women between the ages of 50 and 74 who had not had a mammogram in the last two years were encouraged to register for a free breast screening at the Georgetown Hospital, the Milton District Hospital or the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, with no doctor's referral required. "In Ontario, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, affecting one in nine women in their lifetime and the risk of developing breast cancer increases with age," explains Dr. Jillian Feberwee, Lead Radiologist for Women's Imaging at Halton Healthcare. "Many women avoid or delay their regular mammogram - the very test that could help save their life." Looking for information on healthcare in Ontario?
