Bom in Malfas, he was a son of James and Jean (Fitzgerald) Saunders, Pugwash. He was raised in Carbonear, Nfld., where during his high achool yers was a member of the R.C.S.C.C., Beothic, Marbour Graoe, NF., until joining the Royal Canadian Navy, serving 6 1/2 years on board the HMCS Ottawa and the MMCS Fraser. Me then moved 10 Onanio, where he has resided and worked untit now. Me was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #23, Carbonear, NF. Me enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar and singing and was also an avid sorts fisher- man. Su rviving are his daughter, Leah, Shubenacadie; sons, James and Ryan, both Halifax; grand-daughter, Taylor, Shuberracadie; sisters, Joan Parsons (Len), Red Deer, AB; Jan Saunders, Pugwash; JilI Mclntosh (Rick) FonthilI, ON; nieces, Becky, Jaclyn, Sara, and Laura; nephew, Cody.
