listened as Tom Smith president of the Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture outlined his groups objections to the Progressive Conservative farm income stabilization plan which is now before the Legislature The local farmers said they are not convinced farmers will have enough in ut into the set ting up and ministration of the plan They also objected to using the last five years as basis for coverage and suggested the plan use the an nual cost of production On both these points the mini caucus agreed James Renwick Toronto Riverdale told the farmers the NDP has entered an amendment to the session of contract talks Dec 13 board chairman Ross Stephens said today The session will be the second since negotiations resumed last month after sevenmonth breakdown Involved are about 30 full time England the clu played matches against the En lish National Team and top clu from Ireland Wales and England Against these top teams from the British Isles the Hustlers compiled an outstan ding record of nine wins and one loss The PeterReino sponsored team openedup the tour in Lon don with an impressive 50 vic tory over the second ranked Ireland team from Dublin Hustlers won by scores of 154 158 154 159 and 155 The next opponent was Dar tord College London who were runnersup for the 197576 British Isles University Cham pionship The Dartford team put up good battle but were defeated 40 by the Hustlers The game scores were 157 1512 1512 and 156 In one of the best efforts by the Hustlers they defeated the third ranked English Club team called the Putney Kestrels 41 by scores of 154 1545 1115 150 and 156 The next match was one of the highlights of the tour as the Hustlers met the Spark Club from London The Spark team has four players on the English National team and they are rated the top 197677 English Club Hustlers finally arrived late at the gym after transportation problems and after short warmup were solidly beaten in the first game 151 But from then on it was all the Hustlers as they fought back and came through with victories in the next two games 1510 and 156 to win the match and lot of personal satisfaction along withit The next day the Hustlers trained with the English Na tional team in training ses sion run primarily by the two coaches of the Hustlers ONLY DEFEAT Sunday the PeterReino Club suffered their first and only defeat of the tour The English National team played superb volleyball and defeated the Hustlers 50 Hustlers were not up for this match at all and the determined En ish squad were full value of their victory The coach of the English Na tional team Ken Harvey stated that this was one of the best ef forts ever by the English squad and felt it would greatly help them in their next international Match against West Germany on November 27th Hustlers then moved on to Liverpool for three days In friendly match the Hustlers won the first three games and the Kirby Club won the last two The scores were 158 1511 1510 1115 and 915 The next day was probably the most hectic of the tour At 10 am Hustlers put on atelevised twohour demonstra tion for 600 English students The team was then taken on fivehour tour of the walled city of Chester That night the Hustlers played the Kirby Club 197576 English Club Cham ions in the official match ore crowd of nearly 400 paid admissions This match was the best played of the tour The Hustlers came up with good solid performance and triumphed 30 by scores of 1510 1511 and 1715 Hustlers then moved on to Bristol In the first game of doubleheader before over 200 spectators the PeterReina team defeated the second ranked Wales team 20 by scores of 155 and 1511 The se cond match saw the Hustlers defeat hardworking team Whitefield of Bristol 152 and 158 In the final match of the tour the PeterReino Club defeated strong defensive team from Speedwell of Bristol 155 1513 and 1510 The team was very well received throughout England and their fine standard of play and enthusiasm defnitely re sulted in
