the Com munity Centre and are half way through this sewing pro ject The girls are all making dresses for themselves Mr and Mrs Ray McFadden have returned recently from three week vacation in Sebring were residents here before moving to Barrie and we wish him speedy recovery Mr and Mrs Doug Crawford and Mr and Mrs Barry Leigh flew to Lancaster Penn sylvania March 10th They were taken to see the Star Sclos known here as Continue Store and toured two dairy farms They had dinner at Willow Valley Farm Restaurant then were driven to Hanover Penn sylvania about distance of 40 miles and back to continue operating refreshment truck which has been in violation of the towns licensing bylaw since she began the operation last year Mark Scharf lawyer for Margaret McDougall told council this week his client in quired at township head quarters before purchasing the truck and was told she could get licence for it She was in fact sold refresh ment truck licence for last year but was not allowed to renew the licence this year because her operation involves preparation of food in the van practice forbidden under thebylaw Mr Scharf said council should consider some sort of compromise because of Mrs McDougalls investment made inng faith The request was referred to the towns protection services committee and to bylaw en forcement officer Roy Bridge to consider revising the bylaw Council members and Mr Bridge agreed that Mrs McDougalls operation pro vides useful service to the townships tourist business However concern was ex pressed that it would be unfair to allow her to pay $25 for licence and compete with Innisfil asked licence for refreshment truck restaurants and concession booths which have much higher overhead costs Mr Scharf said Mrs McDougall would be willing to pay
