Brecken- ridge could not pay the note to he was sold out. He afterwards found out that the note in questionlwas aforgerv, and Mr. John Ddbtin was arrested by Detective Murray at Brandon, Manitoba. Searching parties have -been out almost every (Y during the past week with a view of re- oovering the bodies of the two young men, Selby Allan and Donald W. Mclnnes, who were drowned in Kenipenfeldt buy on August 3rd. The search has been a most dili ent one, `but there is a. settled conviction in t e minds of those who have hadlong experience on the waters of Lake Simcoe that the task is a ho e- less one. There is evidently a strong un er tow at the month of the bay near where the accident occurred, and us On t. Life was extinct, and a stretcher having been rocured the body was taken to the Queen's otel. The grief of the mother was heartrending on seeing the dead body of her only son, whom she had seen an hour or two before in the full enjoyment of health and boyhood happiness. The deceased boy was grandson of Mr. John Riddell, stock- broker, of Hamilton, and his` father, whose Christian name is also John, was formerly in the audit oice of the G. W. R., at Hamilton. Mrs. Riddell. accompanied by friends, left` Barrie` on Monday morning for `Chicago, where she resides.
