Progressive ieader May Move Amendment and Speak to It at Length THIRD READING LIKELY ' In all probability the Ontario Liquor Control Bill will be given third reading in the Legislature to- l day. The speed with whicl, this further step in the bill's enactment will be executed depends entirely on the at- titude of Hon. w. ID. Haney. Pro... gressive Leader. Mr. Haney may or may not move. an :iinentlmtnt to the bill at' this stage of proceedings, but the Government forces. it ir. said. are banking that ln- will. and are preparing themselves :wuordlngly. No division of the Home today will' catch the Government napping. for its supporters have been warned to' "stand by" both afternoon and even- ins. Members ot the Progressive group disclaim any knowledge of All. Raney's intentions. but it became whispered about Queen's Park 5'05- terday that an amendment is furth- coming from him. and that he is ready to speak to it at indefinite length. If that be the case. the House is due for probably the late>t sitting of the present session. The first part of toduy's proceed- ings will see Liberal Leader Sinclair speaking to the proposed second reading of Premier Ferguson's Township School Boards Bill. After that will come u. review of the Hydro-Electric power situation in the Province, with Hon. J. R. Comm, member of the Hydro Commission, and the Prime Minister doing the talking. The debate in this: connection is apt to be prolonged, so it is likely that the liquor-Control litetreure will not appear for third tiading---it it does appear, and Mr. Ferguson may alter his plans at the last moment--- until well after the 6 o'clock recess.
