Thomas McGarry, i Provincial Treasurer, who was the chief speaker at the Ward l'ligh:' ('onservative Association meeting in | snell's Hall, East Toronto, last night, took up the charges recently made by Mr. Hartley Dewart, KC.. --ML.E.E., on the administration of the Ontario Temperance Act, and the probity of officials of the license Department. Hon. Mr. McGarry said that while he did not, know Rev. Mr. Ayearst, he understood that he was held in high esteem throughout the Pro-- vince. He contrasted the attitude of the Protincial Government to-- ward the charges with that of the liberal Administrations in British C'olumbia and Saskatchewan.
