Death of Robert Kennedy.
On Sunday there died one of the most highly respected residents of this section in the person of Mr. Robert Kennedy, at his house, lot 2, con. 1, Erin. For some years Mr. Kennedy's health has been poor, and the present year he had several attacks of illness which perceptibly weakened his previously robust form. Mr. Kennedy was born in Inverness Shire, Scotland, in June, 1817, and came to Canada with his father, the late Duncan Kennedy of this place, in 1832, settling on the farm lot 31, Con. 1, Esquesing, which always remained in the family, until this spring when Mr. Alex. Kennedy vacated it and removed to Norval. Mr. Kennedy spent several years in New York State in his early days and attended school at Genesee. About 25 years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Jane Hardy, one of the first teachers of Acton Public School. Two children, a son and a daughter, constitute their family. Mr. Kennedy was a member of the Presbyterian church here, and a persistent student of the Word of God. He enjoyed the highest esteem of the people in this community and his remains were followed to the grave yesterday by many friends and former neighbors.
