SUDDEN DEATH IN DURHAM - About two months ago an operation was performed on Miss Ada B. Crooks of this Town, to take away a tumor that was growing in her side. For a short time afterwards she appeared to be mending nicely, but soon a second tumor was found to be growing rapidly in the old wound, and on Tuesday last a second operation was performed to take it away, and the operation was scarcely over when Miss Crooks asked her mother if it was all over, and in a few minutes was dead. The funeral took place yesterday, and of those attending there was scarcely a dry eye, so great was the sympathy felt of the mother so suddenly bereaved but no one could scarcely refrain from remarking on viewing the deceased in her coffin that she was "beautiful in death." A funeral sermon will be preached by the rev. Mr. lake in the Town Hall next Sabbath evening. - [Grey] Review
