Euphrasia Council

The council met pursuant to adjournment, on 25th April 1885. Members all present. Minutes of last session of Council read and confirmed. The clerk was ordered to ask advice from County Treasurer, concerning 3 acres of land sold for arrears of taxes and supposed to be improperly described. Mr. Shepherdson was authorized to make improvement on 11th line hill. The following named gentlemen were appointed Poundkeepers and Fenceviewers, viz : Poundkeepers, A. McKewen, N. Hewson, W. Wilson, J.M. Thurston, J. B. Winters, S. Wiley, T. McConnel, J. Wilson 9th line, J. Stitt, T. Brady, N. Curry, R. Elliott, W.N. Artley. Fenceviewers, J. Paby, J.B. Soul, J.K. Reid, N. Hewson, G. Proctor, J. McKenzie, G. Vickers, H. White, T. Ellis, T. Diues, H. Knott, E. Parker, J. Pickerin, F. Burch, J. Perry, J. Cook, G. Richardson, Esq., R. H. Stinson, Sr., S. Harvey, J. Curry, J. Manary, R. Elliott, J. Halbert, W. W. Artley, W. Dayman. By-law, No. 349 appointing Pathmasters, Poundkeepers, and Fenceviewers, was carried through the different stages and passed. The Reeve and Mr. Hurd were appointed to get improvements made on deviation road at 6 & 7 side line. The Treasurer to pay as follows viz : R. Dunlop, $20.00, transcribing and preparing the last years minutes of council for printer ; John Blain, $27, ballance of contract of building bridge on valey road ; W. Milligan, $4.64, taxes charged in error; W. Cartwright $4, statute labor charged though performed. On motion of Messrs Shepherdson, and Boyd, the council adjourned until 10 o'clock a.m., on Saturday, 30th May next, and then to meet as a court of Revision. Robt. Dunlop, Tp. Clerk.
