church lake wil cox requesting that more ade quate llfesaving provisions be made around the lakethe letter was written to whitchurch twp council after a recent drowning at lake wilcox rev winch stated that to his knowledge there wasnt a red cross unit or lifeguard association at the resort and little provision had been made for water safety he said he would be willing to assist council in giving leader ship in reducing unnecessary hazards at the lake the clerk informed council that ashs beach was the only public bathing centre at the resort and lifeguards were on duty in case of a water accident he said that the other beaches were private over which council had little control it was also pointed out that the recent drowning victim met death some distance from the shore bowling alley a letter was received from mrs geo villemere operator of the musselmans lake bowling alley stating that she had com piled with councils wishes and had installed storm doors 6n the building and lights at the exits if the work meets the approval of constable mulholland coun cil agreed to grant the owner a licence and hydro a complaint was received from a cottager concerning noise and rowdyism around the bowl ing alley at nights especially on weekends council agreed that routine checks by constable mulholland and the opp might solve the problem vegetable stand an application for the erection of a fruit and vegetable stand at the ringwood intersection has been received by council from jmr chas wintercejd of stouff- ville the members were agree- jable subject to approval from the dept of highways and the j toronto and york roads com mission complaint a complaint was received from mr r a monkman musselmans lake with regard to a bus and trailer parked on a nextdoor lot mr monkman said
