survivors of a family of six or seven children for long years mr and mrs stewart farmed on the 9tb concession of whitchurch on the place now occupied by ed green but 30 years ago this coming november they retired to town whore mr stewart enjoys his work as a market gardenor thoy both have beon faithful workers in the presbyterian church and are among the main supports of st james in stouffville both the stewarts and tho duncans had been closely associated with tho old kirk in scotland hence their perception and love for the faith of their fathers is deep rooted and strong mr and mrs stewart geo robinson and principal cedric watson and father and mother mrs george lee and mr and mrs david pugh while stouffville is not by any means a village of old peopleshomes we have none the less a number of venerable citizens of whom we axe all proud and whose ages are really marvel to those of a younger generation museing over this matter the other day wo were able to gather in b short time the ages of fourteen stouffville residents all 80 years or more old with a combined total of more than eleven hundred years there may be other people in town who have attained this great age but this hamilton cook formerly of lemonvlllo who survives him with two boys of tender years the lato mr wallis suffered from cancer of tho stomach a disease hl3 father died of in winnipeg some years ago his
