a round table session discussing particular ly young peoples workings in sun day schools and other young peoples organizations mrs mattie white foreign mission worker fo womens boards also of the same conference gave the womens home and foreign missionary society very helpful guidance in their work there were present also rev g a conibear presideut of the new york state christian association rev heber o hara associate dean of lakemont summer school and rev j a foss president of tho new york central christian con ference their helpfulness found its place on each programme prof j n dales field secretary of the new york state christian association and dean of the lakemont summer school in his usual cheerful manner helped to guide ail matters of busi ness dr g w hunter of olivet con gregational church toronto in his address on the opening evening challenged the conference to be mindful of their religious relations especially so in these trying times he pointed out that the inclination of the world at large was indiffer ence instead of sincerity of purpose dr hunter also gave the closing address of the conference on sun day evening in which lie urged tho congregation to only a few years ago the news came as a great shock and complete surprise as so far as is known here the deceased son was in good health as we go to press no information was available other than the telegram announcing the death without tho slightest do- tail w b kester left stouffville 25 years ago for western canada and for some timo has been travelling salesman for a clothing house in hamilton friday morning adopted by a vote ot 10 to g a resolution introduced by reovo e l chapman of pickering that in view of the present financial condition of tho country which has brought about our present depreciation in values in the minor municipalities that tho equalized assessment of 1931 bo the basis on which shall be estab lished the 1933 levy with the fol lowing exception namely that the township of reach be relieved of 512000 equalized assessment and that same be added to the town ship of pickering the effect of this resolution is that the equaliza tion on which county taxation in every municipality has been based since 192g shall prevail for another year with the change noted being made in reach and pickering town ship assessments the resolution as adopted means further the scrapping of report brought in by a special committee appointed at the january session to equalize the assessment of the min or municipalities pursuant to statuto and which after over four days deli berations before the present session opened and several hours after wards recommended an increase in the whole equalized assessment of the county of j 087537 on the committee wero messrs chapman rowe
