of the country of york the late mrs morton was born in pickering township her maiden uamo being miss isabell wilson her parents were descendants of ue loyalist pioneers about 54 years ago she married the late neil morton who was a general merchant at belhaven in the township or north gwillimbury who after some years sold his store to mr norman yorke and opened his farm on the shore of lake simcoe to the free use of the public as a summer resort after spending a large sum of money in beautifying the park he sold the premises to the late cawthra mulock son of chief justice mulock and with his wife and family retired to the town of newmarket the late mrs morton united with the christian church when a girt and was always actively identified with the work of the church of her choice she was also a strong advo cate of prohibition being a life member of the wctu deceased was aiways reaching forth toward high ideals and ever following the gleam of the vision splendid faithful to her own church loyal to her sunday school class and devoted to her home where she reigned with dignity and grace she was always obedient to the noble principles that lie at the foundation of a faithful lite
