known farmer of whitchurch passed away here on thursday of last week in the person of daniel shaffer in his slst year the deceased had for the past ten years lived with his daughter mrs robt mead on the 5th concession south of gormley mr shaffer was a native of whitchurch being born at lot 5 concession 5 on the farm on which his father located nearly a century ago when much of this section was a mere wilderness here he lived until he and his good wife went to live with mrs mead he is survived by three children mrs r mead mrs peter brilhriger of gorm ley and ab store keeper at belh- esela who still ownes the homestead and by his life partner now over 90 years of age but still quite bright the late mr shaffer was a man of powerful physique in his more youthful days weighing over 200 pounds
