New members are alum welcome. The Club meets madly morning! at 7:†am. In the Garden View Terrace Restaurant at Parkview Village. The list two events raised a total of $20,000 with 280 people attending last year. The money is being used by the Club to work in conlunction with the Whitchurch-Stouflville Departmental Leisure Services for equipment for Town parks and recreational facilities. The Club is to hold its third annual "A Taste of Spring†fundraiser at the Sleepy Hollow Golf and Country Club March 29 2004. While the Rotary Club of Stouffvllle was chartered May 6. I998, the Club actually began its service mandate in I997. Among the projects tackled that year were the refurbishing of the benches in the Stouffvllle Cemetery and the gathering of l.500 pounds of food for the Whitchurch-Stouffvllle Food Bank. The club established a comedian with the Rotary Club in Santos. Brazil in November i997. collecting l, i 00 small toys for distribution in a children's hospital and a home for underprivileged children in Santos. Stouffville club member Mary Francis luk took the toys to Santos in I997. and returned with another L400 toys from the Club last Christmas. 111e Stouffvllle and Santos clubs continue to engage in lntemational exchange: as well as exchanges of Ideas and cultures. Since its inception, the Stouffville Club has distributed hundreds of books in countries such as India and Haiti. Local protects have included the holding f Bird House Auction fundraisers. the reiurbis‘iong of the Memorial Park Diamond One bleachers. and the cleanup of Lehman's Pond each spring Club members have served as marshals at the Town's annual Strawberry Festival. and the Club hgted anEvenlngof illusion at the 200i Festival.
