A 24-year-old Stouffville woman and a 23-year-old Maple man were at a bar in downtown Barrie on Saturday. Police didn't release the name of the establishment, but did reference Dunlop Street in their press release. As last call loomed, the female from Stouffville was standing near the bar where, according to police, a blonde woman was dancing on it. Police said in a press release, the blonde woman "seems to have taken some offence to this (or has watched too many movies) because she took up a barstool and struck the Stouffville woman with it." Bar staff tended to the victim and ejected the woman. The 23-year-old man from Maple attempted to follow the female down Dunlop Street, but he was allegedly punched in the eye. The victim did not require additional medical attention and her injuries are believed to be minimal.
