Smart-ass meeting `unspeakable' I think I can summarize the situation at the town offices with regard to the alleged `Smart-ass' episode. Councillor Smith will be called `S' and Mayor Altmann will be called `A'. The scene is set; there are many speakers gathered in the speaking place and there is much speaking about things to be spoken about. Time passes. S: I wish to speak about things needing to be spoken about. A: You shall not speak S because you are late to the speaking place and probably not prepared to speak. S: You are unspeakable A, I wish to speak in this speaking place and I am prepared to speak. A: You shall not call me unspeakable S, especially in this speaking place. A: I demand you speak an apology. S: I shall not speak this apology A, for you are unspeakable. Letters to thE 2. Re: Smith defends `smart-ass' remark, June EDITOR Businesses aid community gardens A few of us of all ages got together to prepare the community gardens for planting this month. Thanks to the town, we were given three plots to grow food for the food bank. Thanks to some neighbours, we were given a large bag of triple mix from Farmer Jack's and Kennedy Road Market gave us some tomato and squash plants. Schell Home Country Store gave us seeds when they heard who it was for. Another big help is Joyfully Organic Farm, who assists with free evenings where we can all go and learn. Anyone is welcome to join us, we weed, we plant, we harvest and we learn. If you are interested, check us out at www.wsyou177.org . Having generous neighbours like these businesses, we are able to supply many bags of veggies to the food bank. S: Speaking an apology would be unspeakable to me. S: I feel I am speaking for many who cannot speak. A: There will be no further speaking of this speaking matter for it is has been spoken about. S: Nay A, I wish to speak about it to show many that I am a fine speaker. From what I am reading, I think both of you could improve your speaking. To think all this time I have been spending $55 a month for satellite TV and I could have just gone to town council with take-out. Oops, maybe take-out food is unspeakable in the speaking place when many are gathered to speak much speaking. I am done speaking. Diane Ward Stouffville 11 munities in social studies. We are excited to live in Stouffville and have been finding out more about our own community. As part of our studies, we are comparing our community to others around the world. We thought it would be great to learn about our partner community, Igoma, Tanzania. No sooner had we asked him to visit, then Justin Kerswill, the chairperson of SIP (Stouffville Igoma Partnership), came to our home room and took us on a "tour" of this amazing place. He brought a video, slide show, African clothing and instruments for us to try. We learned how people in our community are actively helping others in Igoma by helping to provide medical care, clean water, child sponsorship and many other things. Thank you, Justin, for taking the time to show our class how important it is to be grateful for all we have here in Stouffville and to have a "spirit of giving" so we can share with those in need. | Stouffville Sun-Tribune | Thursday, June 16, 2016 Ron Boyd Stouffville `Tour' of Igoma hit home Our Grade 2 class is studying global com- Mrs. Connor & the Summitview Grade 2s Stouffville Stouffville Churches Welcome You Anglican Church of Canada 254 Sunset Blvd., 905-640-1461 www.stouffvilleanglican.ca Christ Church To ST.
