Volunteers heading back to Igoma By Ali Raza FRiday, June 3 Yuk it up 23 | Stouffville Sun-Tribune | Thursday, June 2, 2016 aliraza@yrmg.com The Stouffville Igoma Partnership has several events slated for the coming weeks. On Thursday, June 9, SIP holds a concert at the Lion of Stouffville. Tickets are $20 at the door and the event features door prizes, a 50/50 draw and music performed by Derek Christie, Laurelle Augustyn, LoveIsFree, Hyssop and the Marion Drexler Band. The concert runs 7:30 to 11 p.m. Money raised from the concert will support SIP chair Justin Kerswill's fifth trip to Igoma in August. Kerswill plans to head to Igoma with a team for two weeks, he invites anyone from the community to consider the trip. A meeting at town hall on Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. will give residents the opportunity to learn about the trip. Mayor Justin Altmann may also join the team in August. Igoma is a small village near the city of Mbeya, Tanzania. SIP formed as a volunteer charity organization in May 1998.
