McKee (nee O'Vell) passed away at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto surrounded by her children. Barbara was born and raised in Midland, later moving to Toronto where she worked for many years with Standard Paving of Toronto, Web Offset Publications in Pickering and Epic Graphic Design of Markham while raising her family in Agincourt and later Unionville before retiring back to Midland in 1998. A lover of dogs, Barbara is pictured at left with Clancy. She was a kind and giving soul who always had a smile for you. She had a roaring laugh and tenacity for life. She will be sadly missed and was loved by all who knew her. Predeceased by her parents Ralph (1975) and Gladys O'Vell (1981), her beloved husband Robert Young McKee (1986), her sister Carol Ann Decaire (1977) and brother Robert R. O'Vell (2015). She is survived by sons Bryan R. McKee (Connie) and Brent Y. McKee (Melissa), daughter Carolyn J. McKee-Upton (Rob), grandson D. Cole Highfield-McKee; nieces Lynne Press (Gordon), Sharon Maracle (Peeter), and Jackie Knapp (Travis) of Midland; cousins Beverley Scott of Dundas, Ontario and Ted Bright of Toronto, as well as her cherished pets Fergus, Marshall and Molly. Donations can be made in her name to the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland, Ontario. A celebration of her life, and her brother Bob O'Vell will take place at the RCL Branch No. 68, Penetanguishene on Saturday, March 26th from 1-4 p.m. Interment: Pine Hills Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario. Letters of condolences: McKee Family, 951 Roslyn Court, Midland ON L4R 5A1 WHYNOTT, Fraser Hurley - 93, Markham, Ontario, February 24th 2016 With deep sorrow in their hearts Fraser's family regret the passing of a loving and devoted father, grandfather and greatgrandfather at Sunnybrook Veterans Residence, Toronto. Born March 16th, 1922, in Queen's County Nova Scotia, Fraser was the son of the late Arthur and Cecilia (Jones) Whynott. Fraser joined the RCAF during WWII serving at Coal Harbour Air Base, British Columbia as a Leading Aircraftsman working on coastal surveillance Catalina flying boat aircraft. After the war, Fraser joined some of his relatives as a woodsmen and official guide for fishing and hunting parties in Nova Scotia throughout the 1940's and `50s. He also participated in Sportsman Shows held throughout Canada and the U.S. Acts consisted of heated contests in wood-chopping, log rolling and canoe tilting. Moving his family to Ontario in 1951, Fraser worked as a carpenter at such places as Mt. Hope Airport (Hamilton), Van Bots Construction and on the CN Tower. During Fraser's "retirement", he enjoyed flying his own airplane from the Markham Airport where he spent much of his time hanging out with his "flying buddies" at the flying club. Pre-deceased by his wife of 69 years, Beatrice (2013), Fraser is survived by his children Edward (Joanne), Enid Abram, Warren (Leigh), Denise Smith (Gregory); grandchildren, Michael, Richard, Matthew, Kyle, Sean, April, Emily; greatgrandchildren, Josh, Kate, Christopher Jr., Mason, Taylor, Molly, Nash, Reid & James. Fraser is survived by sisters Georgina & Ruth of Bridgewater, N.S. Fraser's ashes will be interred at a later time in the family plot in the Harmony Cemetery, Caledonia Nova Scotia. SMITH, Nora "Betty" Nora "Betty" Smith, of Marmora, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 6, at Campbellford Memorial Hospital, in her 96th year. Betty was born on March 16, 1920, in Cuckfield, in Sussex, England. She came to Stouffville, Ontario in 1946 as a war bride and raised her family there. Family was always the most important thing in her life. After they retired in 1989, she and her husband, Hank, moved to Warkworth, Ontario, to be close to family. Betty was an outstanding gardener, and she enjoyed crafts, such as folk art, crochet, quilting, and rug hooking. She lived in Marmora for the last four years. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Harold; son Robert; and daughter Bonita Bartlett. She is survived by her daughter Nancy "Lacaria" Genereaux (the late David), of Madoc; son David Smith (Nellie), of Campbellford; and son Blair (Susan) of Bracebridge. She was a loving Grandma to Philip Whybrew (Sheryl), Samantha Baumhour (Mark), Robin Bartlett (Steve Brodie), Christopher Bartlett, Emily Smith, Jessica Smith (Peter Stroud), Reuben Smith, Ashlea Smith, Ryan Smith, Bronwyn Smith; and great-grandchildren Amanda Whybrew, Kaitlyn Whybrew, Daniel Whybrew, Michael Whybrew, Zack Baumhour, Caleb Baumhour, Darrah Brodie, Oliver Stroud, Charlotte Stroud, Rosalie Stroud, and Gwendolyn Smith. At Betty's request, there will be no funeral at this time. A graveside service for family will follow in the spring at Warkworth Cemetery.
