It was their third tournament championship of the season to go with a silver. After losing their first two round-robin games against Scarborough and Sudbury by identical 1-0 scores, the Stars rebounded to blank North York 2-0 in their final round-robin tilt. That enabled the Stars to advance to the semifinals where they defeated the host Scarborough Sharks 1-0.
