You can at a pair of Valentine's dances at the Royal Canadian Legion on Mostar Street this weekend. Branch 459 hosts its own Sweetheart Dance tomorrow featuring Tamin Thunder. Tickets are $10. Doors open at 9 p.m. The Knights of Columbus and Catholic Women's League from St. Patrick's Parish are hosting a Valentines 1950s and `60s rock and roll dinner dance at the legion Saturday. The 45's band will perform. Proceeds will go to the Markham Food Bank. Prizes will be presented for best costumes and to the dance competition winners. You can match strides with former Toronto Maple Leaf forward Todd Warriner during a free skate from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Stouffville Arena. It's one of 35 such events RBC is sponsoring across Ontario to celebrate the Olympics. The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum, 14732 Woodbine Ave. in Vandorf, is hosting a skating party from noon to 4 p.m. Skaters can also create a heritage craft to take home. Pre-registration is encouraged. For more information, call 905-642-7529. A free skate is taking place at the Stouffville Arena, 12483 Ninth Line, from 1 to 3 p.m. It is sponsored by RBC. The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is hosting a free swim from 1:05 to 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the town's Join In program. For families who want to try something a little different, Willowgrove Farm, 11737 McCowan Rd., is offering a day (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) of activities that includes curling, wagon rides, snowshoeing, quinzhee building, a scavenger hunt and crafts. Some activities are weather dependant. Food and drinks are available for purchase. The cost is $10 per family.
