A Part ll Order request must be received by the Minister at the address below no later than june 30. 2010. The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to identify the preferred solution for the delivery of a secure water supply and to provide firm capacity in the communities of Ballantrae- Musselman Lake and Bloomington. The study has been conducted under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007) under the Ontario Environmental AssessmentAct. Public Consultation Centres were held on December 6, 2006 and April 14, 2010 to present the study findings, including identification of alternative solutions, and to receive public comment and input on the study. The preferred solution is a new groundwater production well located on the Ballantrae Fire Department property within the Community of Ballantrae-Musselman Lake. This well will provide a more secure water supply and firm capacity for the existing water supply system. In order for construction to proceed, land acquisition from the Town ofWhitchurch- Stouffville will be required. Due to current provincial legislation, the extension of communal Water servicing to the Community of Bloomington cannot be provided. Subject to the comments received as a result of this Notice and the receipt of other approvals, as necessary, York Region intends to proceed with the detailed design and construction of this project. A Project File has been prepared for this project. The Project File describes the identified problem, the assessment of alternatives and the preferred solution, as well as the public and agency consultation program conducted during the Class EA study. This Notice places the Project File on public record for review and is available at the following locations during regular business hours: NOTICE OF COMPLETION CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT GROUNDWATER EXPLORATION FOR ADDITIONAL WATER SUPPLY IN THE COMMUNITIES OF BALLANTRAE- MUSSELMAN LAKE AND BLOOMINGTON IN THE TOWN OF WHITCHURCH-STOUFFVILLE Thank you for your participation in this study The Honourable John Genetsen Minister of the Environment 135 St. Clair Avenue West, 12th Floor Toronto ON M4V 1P5 The Regional Municipality of York Town ofWhitchurch-Stouffville 37 Sandiford Rd., 4th Floor Stouffville, Ontario Monday to Friday: 8:30 am. to 4:30 pm.
