Brenda McGowan, Manager of Tourism Development for York Region, presented a draft plan for developing tourism in the region, identifying the positive impact it could have on Whitchurch-Stouffville. The Region is looking for municipal support for the program;‘Council referred the presentation back to staff for follow up. The Leisure Facilities Strategy component of the Leisure Services Master Plan was presented to Council. The report identifies all existing and proposed Leisure Facilities with _ guidelines to accommodate the planned growth for the Town. Additional elements of the Leisure Services Master Plan to be completed this year include: Programming Strategy, Cultural Master Plan and Volunteer Engagement Strategy. The Town will continue to lease soccer facilities at both Bruce’s Mill and the old high school location on Bramble Crescent for the Whitchurch-Stouffville Soccer Club to use. The plowing sanding of sidewalks‘are normally completed within eight (8) hours after the end of a snowfall.
