BY "M MASON Staff Writer It’s a Canadian holiday tradition in Vandorf. Fireworks are lighting up the sky over northwestern Whitchurchâ€"Stouï¬ville Monday to mark the Victoria Day holiday. They will be accompanied by music from Whitchurchâ€" Stouffville’s own Most Excellent Productions. ‘ The music starts around 8 pm. and the ï¬rst of the ï¬reworks at dusk. at approximately 9:25 p.m., at Vandorf Park. Admission is free. The town sponsors the event. The park is on Woodbine Avenue between Bloomington and Aurora roads. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. An ice cream truck will be on site. “There is a great play structure in the park that children can enjoy and it can accommodate a lot of kids," town spokesperâ€" son Micole Ongman said. . “There were quite a lot last year playing together while waiting for the show. Frisbees and such are also a great way to pass the time in the park while waiting for the show.†There is ample parking in park lot, at the museum next door and across Woodbine Avenue at the Vandorf hall. You can also park along Woodbine. You can bring sparklers, but any other ï¬reworks are not allowed in the park The show is set up on the baseball dia- mond and you can watch from the park over the trees. [(1 case of inclement weather, check to see if the show is cancelled by calling 905-6540 1910 ext. 323. The bridges will be blocked for safety reasons, so you can not go onto the base ball ï¬eld. The centre promotes youth employment by providing ser vices for students and employers. York Region Sefvice Canada Centre for Youth will have a booth at the event.
