born on obrien ave at tended school in stouffville and high school in markham he later went to the university of toronto and oxford in england he was a professor at the university of toronto and earlier at the university of saskatchewan towards the end of his life he lectured at carleton university in ottawa a socialist at a time when it was actively dangerous to be one mr underhill was one
