reserved for a beautiful bridal en semble designed by mrs evelyn jackson and modelled by mrs lorna ness the one night even was so successful the society plans to kick off their campaign with a fashion show again next year because they were sold out for weeks in advance the show is expected to continue for two nights at least in the future but there is a much more serious side to the work done by the canadian cancer society april has always been campaign month for the society and starting this week more than 80 volun teers will be knocking on doors in the stouffville area asking for donations traditionally the stouffville branch always started their campaign with a daffodil tea but this year it has been ex panded to include an essay contest among grade six seven and eight students on the hazards of smoking the society also hopes to recruit eight volunteer cyclists to participate in the lions bikeathon in may engagement rev and mrs john v colley 7417 chestnut kidge lock- port new york an- n ounce the engagement of their daughter kuth marie to jerry allen cline son of mr and mrs james ii cline 331 market street lock- port new york both miss colley and mr cline are 1970 graduates of lockport senior high school miss colley employed on the staff of the new york telephone company is the granddaughter of mrs fred m pugh stouffville no date has been set for the wedding but campaign organizers fear many people dont realize the society can do as much as it can towards helping the com munity mrs james richards of loretta street says a large percentage of the 3600 the society hopes to collect this year will be used towards helping cancer patients in the stouffville area the society can supply dressings some drugs such as pain killers and tranquilizers house keeping services for a month transportation to hospitals meals for children left tem porarily on their own and small gifts to needy patients at christmas and easter but very few people realize these services are available
