tliurilay january 28 1971 tmk tkibunk iase shell run and play again bvxorrofankmh ontario hiding ontario riding i want to thank all of those who have written and telephoned ex pressing their concern for my daughter yvonne who was struck by a car on monday jan 11 your prayers and good wishes are most sin cerely appreciated by the family thank god she is coming along quite well although she will be in hospital for some time she suffered two broken legs and a severe laceration on one the doctors have indicated that she will mend well and will be able to walk again due to the accident jand the large volume of mail that has been l received in my office during the last month i have found it quite impossible to keep up to date with my correspondence and wish to apologize for the delay in my replies to enquiries for tunately my office has now nearly caught up and within the next week i anticipate being able to keep up on a day to day basis i indicated in my last weekly report that i would attempt to see as many people in the riding as possible during the christmas recess although i did not have an op portunity to meet everyone in the riding i was delighted with the number i did have a chance to meet and talk with the house recessed on friday dec 18 and i returned im mediately to the riding and spent 5 days touring all cor ners of the riding to visit and meet as many as possible the first few days were spent in jacksons point sutton keswick pefferlaw uxbridge port perry and surrounding areas and on sunday december 20th i spent a most delightful af ternoon as a guest of chief big canoe on georgina island visiting the indians and attending their annual christmas concert this cer tainly was one of the highlights of those few- days and i wish to publicly thank them and everyone in the riding who gave me such a warm and generous welcome on jan 4 1 spoke at the civic luncheon in oshawa and on jan 8 i was the guest speaker at the liberal annual meeting in uxbridge in the days between these two meetings i spent most of my time in the riding visiting other areas mainly the southern section meeting with as many constituents as possible mostly in the plaza and business areas i would estimate that i had the pleasure of meeting over 1000 people during those days and i found it a rich and rewarding experience in view of the fact that i have not had an opportunity to cover the entire riding during these visits i intend to carry on with this approach at every opportunity heart surgery bv bettv pegg greenwood mr bob clarke was ad mitted to toronto general hospital sunday for
