at one time was a picture for neatness and cleanli ness more than one householder has complained bitterly to your writer over the dust and the apparent lack of attention by council to the matter of a more regular cleaning from one end of town to the other the sides of the street present a picture of accumu lated refuse while from church st east on the north side one would believe the pavement was being allowed to gradually return to a gravel top admittedly much of the gravel accumulation comes from passing truoks hut this certainly is no excuse for not cleaning the street added to the dirty street complaints come sidewalk weeds but many of these could be corrected by a little energy on the part of residents themselves to tidy up the edges of their boulevards on the sidewalk side visits
