905642read7323i council ffighllights status report on key capital projects council received a report on the status of the key capital projects designed to respond to growth related initiatives and assist in the reha bilitation of existing infrastructure the report indicated that all of the 2007 key capital projects were underway or completed in accordance with the 2007 capital budget approved by council park develop ment projects outlined included mauro parkette completed whelers mill neighbourhood park underway madori neighbourhood park construction completed and vandorf master plan implementation underway road reconstruction projects outlined included main street reconstruction underway construction of the millard street bridge at little rouge creek underway and rehabilitation of mccowari road st johns sideroad to faulkner avenue and bethesda road kennedy road to warden road completed a similar capital projects status report is planned to be brought for ward in december 2007 and more detailed status reports on various projects will be outlined on the town page reduced speed on hillsdale road following a notice of motion filed at the september 18 council in committee meeting council passed a bylaw to reduce the speed limit on hillsdale road from 50 kmh to 40 kmh a children at play sign will also be posted medispa on main council approved an amendment of the zoning bylaw from residential low density to general commercial at 6038 main street medispa on main the change recognizes the existing use of the medical spa and permits an expansion of the building oak ridges moraine foundation representatives of the oak ridges moraine foundation provided an overview of their current strategic directions the foundation is a non profit charitable organization with a responsible manner including new arterial roads hoover park drive and millard street and widening of main street a project approved under the municipal class environmental assessment process over the next two years main street will be completely recon structed from highway 48 to the ninth line the project has been designed to provide a balance between improved traffic operations and pedestrian safety while maintaining access to properties along main street the new road will have two lanes for travel in each direction with a center leftturn lane and land scaped median features construction has begun with stormwater system improvements between ringwood drive and highway 48 a watermain and sanitary sewer will be constructed at the same time with activity extending southwards on ringwood
