need justification and location for a new operations centre to serve the residents of the municipality this study is being conducted in accordance with the municipal class environmental assessment process which is an approved process under the environmental assessment act it is anticipated that the existing operations centre located at 5827 main street in stouffville will not adequately meet the needs of the town which continues to experience rapid growth the facility is required by the town for personnel needs as well as vehicle and equipment storage for various municipal func tions including roads water and wastewater and parks and leisure services as part of the study exercise a complete inventory of current environmental conditions will be collected to identify and eval uate alternative solutions this evaluation will consider not only the natural environment but also socioeconomic impacts and technical feasibility together with pro posed measures- to mitigate impacts public consultation is an important element of this project public information centres will be held later this summer to provide background information on the study and the various alternatives considered as well as a comparative analysis of the alternatives upon completion of the study an environmental study report esr describ ing the project will be prepared and made available for public review for a period of 30 calendar days notification of the date time and location of the filing of the esr will be made through newspaper notices and letters mailed to interested parties comments and information regarding this project will be col lected to assist the town in meeting the requirements of the environmental assessment act with the exception of personal information all comments
