repeatedly to york issues and candidates when drop ping in on surrounding communities liberals ignoring region during his visit to markham earlier this month he accused the liberals of ignoring yorks concerns during their 12 years in government mr martin scoffed at the idea a few days later in newmarket the second of his two visits to the region during the campaign its just nonsense you take a supply is required to enable the region to meet future water servicing requirements for the commujiity of stouffville a glass environmental assessment ea study was initiated in september 2003 and is nearing completion the purpose of the class ea study is to determine a preferred source of new water supply and the preferred alternative for connecting the new supply to the existing system y various water supply alternatives considered in this assessment include v new groundwater wells cpnriectiqn to the york water system yws gbmbinatiori of hew wells arid connection to the yws environmental natural social and cultural technical and economic criteria were used to evaluate the alternative water supplies as a result of the evaluation process the recommended water supply alternative has been identified tobe a connection to the york water system water will be supplied from the york water system via the north markham reservoir located on the east side of mccowan road south of stouffville road the recommended alternative entails construction of a new pumping station and a watermain to supply water from the reservoir to the existing distribution system at ringwood drive a second public information centre will be held to provide further details on the preferred water supply alternative and construction considerations to receive input and comment from interested parties and to provide an opportunity for interested parties to discuss the information on a onetoone basis with staff from york region and their consultants maeviro consultants inc and lgl limited comments received at this
