antique cars festival it was feasting his eyes on a 1919 wosley it was very impressive the size and condition of it they drove it here from whitevale he says some owners of antique- cars drive more than 100 miles for the event says mr thirgood the founder and chairper son of the event this years festival on tomorrow and free to all promises to be no different mr thirgood expects as many as 300 antique cars from the mid- 1900s to the 1980s he and partner helen walter created the festival four years ago we enjoyed looking at these cars its a big party he says the markham village business improvement area runs the event local businesses including craig rileys markville ford and capstone commu nications group come onboard as sponsors this years festival includes vendors selling items soned and beginners will ride up to 160 kilometres to battle cancer tomorrow ride for karen participants have raised more than 100000 for cancer care charities during the past two years and event organizers are committed to raising another 50000 this time out proceeds from this years event will support three childhood cancer camps camp oochigeas camp quality and camp trillium the annual cycling event is held to pay tribute to karen tobias and raise money for charities that help people liv ing with cancer and those who care for them this years event will feature two courses both of which start and finish in vaughan a 25kilometre course for intermediate cyclists and a 160km route for advanced riders the entire 25- km course and threequarters of the 160km route are within york
