residents by joan ransberry staff writer plans for six subdivisions in whitchurchstouffville are under appeal to the ontario municipal board omb while town council recent ly approved the contraction of 3500 homes in six locations including 600 on the tenth line and close to 1500 on the ninth line two other devel opers are challenging the plans also a plan in south stouffville is being questioned by go transit delays unlikely since construction is not expected until the big pipe sewer extension project reach es whitchurchstouffville next spring the omb hearings are not expected to delay develop ment if the omb determines they can in fact proceed as planned tom parry director of planning for whitchurch- stouffville development services pointed out j all six appeals are expected tbbe handled at the same time mr parry said while public hearing tied to the developments attracted standingroom only crowds at whitchurchstouffvilles municipal office in the past 18 months no residents filed objections with the omb parties filing appeals besides go transit are hallmount properties ltd and an ontario numbered compa ny hallmount recently pur chased property on the tenth line north of geoffrey and aspen crescents town council recent ly approved the con struction of 3500 i homes in six locations includingwo on the tenth line and close to 1500 on ninth line appeals are filed against two ontario numbered com panies lebovic enterprises ltd madori ltd frank mauro ltd and varkirri developments the appeals deal with possible delays affecting other developments and gos concern with a planned railway crossing in the hoover park and park drive area lebovic plans to build 1444 houses on the ninth line south of stouffville varkim plans to build a 784home subdivision on 222 acres in southwest stouffville with access from the ninth line weldon road and highway 48 madoris plans are for 342 houses on 56 acres in north west stouffville with access from the ninth line glad park avenue west lawn crescent and winlane drive frank and aurora mauro propose building 267 homes on 47 acres- west of the stouffville reservoir with access from the ninth line arid bayberry street fieldgate wwtchurchstouffville were ripped from the ground 12foot poles and all and carted away posing a seri ous threat to life also taken were street sighs at all four locations signs were stolen along mccowah road at bow street cherry and hidden forest streets and at kennedy road and st john road this is beyond stupid this is malice and it is very dangerous its got to stop said keith saunders approaching intersec tion the municipalitys public works department replaced the missing signs and checked every intersection in the municipality to make sure more signs werent missing public works foreman peter alcorn estimates the damage to be about 2000 its hard to imagine why anyone would do this he said the next person who drives through one of these unmarked intersections could be a loved
