tournament die last thursday i read suntribune editor jim masons column mr mason recog nizes the importance of the mayors golf tournament to the community especially to our youth mr mason knows that wayne emmerson cares about the young people of whitchurchstouffville in the past nine years the mayors golf tournament has raised over 130000 money from the annual tournament fund ed youth hockey teams theatre produc tions library projects and at one time or another each and every school in whitchurch- stouffville has received a donation when i golf i often bring home the most honest golfer trophy despite my lack of skill on the golf course i care about young people you dont need to be a tiger woods to be impressed by the fact that two weeks ago more than 400 golfers participat- edinthe mayors golf tournament the golfers knew mayor wayne emmerson was retiring they wondered would the tour nament end mr mason wrote that tears fell at the mention that this tournaments days are done mayor wayne emmerson can certainly retire with peace of mind he has served the community well and he should be able to return to private life with every ones blessings but why does the golf tournament have to end the mayors golf tournament is a very successful event as a parent and a grandparent i know how very important it is to keep the kids busy doing positive things for nearly a decade the money from waynes golf tournament helped make kids better kids when i decided that i could carry on where maydr emmerson left off and organize tifte golf tournament i did so with waynes blessings wayne of all people doesnt want to see this valuable event end hopefully with your support on nov 10th i will be elected mayor of whitchurchstouffville a mayor should help the kids the job demands it so should the heart in closing i ask that we join 410 golfers to give retiring mayor wayne emmerson a standing ovation for more information regarding my mayoralty campaign call 416 5743903
