diverse multi national company don understands the complexities of running a multimillion dollar operation and the significance of board leadership and direction don has extensive expe rience as a board member on various professional associations and has broad community involvement dons busi ness acumen is an excellent addition to the boards skill base dan amadori treasurer dan is a long time resi dent of unionville with professional training as a chartered accountant jmba from western ontario and a bachelor of commerce degree from mcgill dan brings a strong financial and business skill notforprofit and community activities james r maclean secretary jim was appointed president and ceo of markham stouffville hospital in april 1999 he was the chief of staff of the hospital from 1986 to 1998 graduating from the university of western ontario in 1980 dr maclean opened a family practice in markham in 1984 with his wife dr susan maclean during jims sixyear term as a member of the york region district health council he chaired the acute care task force he is currently the chair of the emergency care group of the toronto east emergency network teen and a member of the oha ehealth mcasphalt jgroup of companies j located in markham a fgraduate of the university of western ontario richard was called to the bar in 1 974 he returned to the gta two years ago having spent 26 years practicing law in northeastern ontario he was extensively involved in community affairs during his years in northern ontario having served most recently as chair of the ontario northland transportation commission richard is married and lives in stouffville with his wife and three chil dren rod mackenzie rod is a senior partner with enterprise advantage group a management consulting firm based in markham and has extensive experi ence in helping compa nies improve the effectiveness of their strate gic and marketing planning for the past 1 2 years rod has been associated with the canadian management centre as a course leader for their seminars on strategic planning strategic marketing and establishing strategic alliances rod holds an mba degree from the ivey school of business the university of western ontario rod is mar ried with four children and has lived in the markham area for over 22 years blair seeley blair is a project manager with stantec a local consulting engineering firm he manages a team that oversees several resi dential and commer cial land development projects in the area blair is also very involved with community activities many of them involving markham stouffville hospital he is also an elected member of the markham fair board chairing several committees and assisting in a wide vari ety of roles originally from unionville blair now lives with his wife and son in stouffville lisa tomjenovic lisa is an organiza tional development jprofessional special izing in the area of jstrategic alliances and joint ventures she has extensive experience working as both an internal and external consultant in strategic human resource positions and has worked throughout north america and in europe lisa is currently owner of lisat consulting ltd an organizational development consulting firm supporting clients with mergers acquisitions alliances and joint ventures lisa has been a resident of markham since 1 992 is married and has one child stouffville hospital albert j vanveldhuizen albert is the vice chair of the foundation board of directors and he is also a member of the hospital board markham stouffville hosuital foundation board of directors 2002- 2003 dennis cline chair dennis has lived in markham for over 12 years with his wife and family as a business manager of a plastics company dennis brings a strong background in marketing and financial issues to the board dennis has been a member of the foundation board for 9 years his other interests include community theatre dennis is a strong promoter of health and hospital care in our community albert j vanveldhuizen vice chair a partner with cattanach hindson sutton vanveldhuizen albert joined markham stouffville hospital foundation board of directors in 1998 his professional affilia tions include the markham board of trade the canadian bar association law society of upper canada and york region law association albert has previously volunteered on the markham board of trade golf committee and was a canvasser for the ontario march of dimes warren jestin treasurer warren is scotiabanks chief i economist and has been with jthe bank for over 22 years he lis a popular public speaker and media commentator on economic issues both in canada and abroad warren has been actively involved with the economic poli cy committee of the canadian and ontario chambers of commerce and the toronto board of trade born in toronto warren has lived in markham for the last 1 2 years with his wife and fam ily he is an active runner and belongs to the markham centaurs running club gina s rosen secretary gina was appointed president of markham stouffville hospital foundation in october 1 996 she brings to the foundation 1 2 years experience in the healthcare philanthropy sector and over 1 5 years of marketing and communication experience in the forprofit sector gina has achieved her national certification cfre and she is currently on the board
