association atom girls crosscountry race at bruces mill on tuesday ptwtasteve somerville a strong finish for bowling club the stoufrville lawn bowling club put the fin ishing touches on a suc cessful season by taking the district team champi onship recently the event which ran through out the season saw 20 stouffville area bowlers participate the final weeks of the season also saw elmer farthing and andrea cor ner take home the trophy at the schell lumber mixed pairs tournament the stoufiville teams of murray redshaw and jane hachey and rick smith and priscilla gam ble also won prizes at the event elmer and doris far thing continued their win ning ways with victories in the uxbridge iga tour nament and at a competi tion in fenelon falls the couple also picked up prizes at events in collingwood and uxbridge doris farthing paired up with lillian brown to claim the prize with two wins at a tournament in lindsay farthing then teamed up with priscilla gamble and dorothy turner to capture the prize for high one win at a tourney in markham before combining with jane hachey and glenda dunkeld to win high one game at a competition in aurora eleanor crossen teamed up with betty kirven to win the ladies pairs title at a tourney in richmond hill before working with audrey gib son to take the champi onship at an event in aurora the trio of mark fabbi andrea corner and silvia bishop defeated the team of norm swartman lloyd kirven and rick smith to take the stoufiville clubs team championship in the final event of the season major peewee clippers off to an impressive start david brown and lukas williams each netted a pair of goals to help power the major peewee clippers to an 114 win over uxbridge in a road game played oct 15 geoff dunn casey maude ryan jones mike pennanen blair cain matt sullivan and peter smit had single markers with assists going to brent meyer and williams three each justin heyworth and cain two each ryan zonnekeyn brown jones and smit in their first league game of the season the day before meyer cain and brown scored as the clippers fought back from a 31 deficit to hold the oshawa bruins to a 33 tie zonnekeyn had an assist graham smith and dan joyce shared the goal tending duties in the two games bantam clippers edge uxbridge goalkeeper carmen auciello held his ground as the edwards murphy painting and decorating bantam forgie were 12th 13th and 14th respectively in the atom girls race kevin hayward was 15th in the atom boys run the schools atom girls team of lloyd reesor forgie and katelyn button came third in their event tw v- 5 stoufrville clippers goalkeeper matt cartwright gets his glove on the puck to thwart this markham waxers scoring opportunity in an ontario minor hockey association minor novice rep game
