residential growth we must ask council what do you want this town to be a res idential haven or a centre for industry are we inter- ested in business or not the luncheon which took place at angies eatery was held to gather issues and concerns from local business in preparation for a june 26 meeting involv ing the chamber executive and council several in attendance suggested town staff were difficult to deal with or vague when they were looking to obtain licencing or information to further develop their businesses it was noted staffers often take an adversarial stance when dealing with businesses looking to expand their facilities janet davies of cedar beach park said she and her family were constantly having to inform town staff as to past development agreements made with the town we bring in 540 families a year to town but were constantly being given a hassle by the town said davies chamber president rob shannon suggested the chamber could be of help to businesses looking to work through the red tape of development i think thats one way in which the chamber can help it can be very frustrating said shannon lebovic said it was large companies like his that made it difficult for small companies to gain conces sions when negotiating with the town they the town are very unreasonable they are used to win ning for me to give another 50000 for 100 lots isnt going to affect my lifestyle but its going to make a big difference for the little guy lebovic suggested its difficult to win concessions at richards wins award from page 1 group which continues today and didnt stop
