the subjects of racism and religious prejudice at a training session held at the christian blind mission international cbmi in stouffville the chaplains most of whom work in provincially- operated seniors resi dences homes for the developmentally handi capped and correctional institutions were instruct ed on how to handle prob lems arising out of cana das everincreasing racial and religious mix five sessions the session is one of five of its kind to be put on in southern ontario this year by the canadian centre for social justice ccsj a private nonprofit body which deals with race rela tions dr gary gould president of the ccsj was the prin cipal speaker at the stouf fville session according to don currie who is vicepresident of the ccsj human rights and race relations program the programs goal is to help the chaplains become more effective in perform ing their duties and in the training of volunteers strategies the main objective is to give the chaplains the strategies and tools to deal with the racial andj religious diversities in their own institutions j currie said we want to equip them for leadership and for crosscultural coun selling rev lynda kelly regional coordinator for
