highway 48 north of 16th avenue on saturday may 11 and ordering a big mac for each one sold the restaurant will donate 1 to the whitchurchstoufrville food bank its all part of a mchappy day cele bration which will include music clowns entertainment and face painting markhamstouffville hospital will have some of its stateoftheart equipment on display and is setting up a special dolls hospital for young visitors the hospital is also holding a weeklong food drive to assist the food bank among the local celebs who will be serving at mcdonalds on may 1 1 are mayor fran sainsbury and members of council local mp bill attewell tribune editor andrew mair and reporter bruce stapley as well as members of local ser vice clubs town crier marcel bossi will announce the start of the celebration in his splendid new uniform donated by the town mchappy day gets under way at 11pm stacey flies back stouffville student stacey betz who suffered a broken leg and a fractured kneecap when she was hit by a car in st petersburg florida on april 18 was flown by air ambulance to markham- stouffville hospital last week fifteen- yearold stacey who also sustained cuts and bruises was very happy to be back and is expected to make a complete recovery travelling in the air ambulance was neat she said they phoned mcdonalds from the air and when we stopped in north car olina they had fries waiting since her return ive had tons of visitors and ive gotten lots of cookies and gifts im looking forward to coming home and id like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and for coming to visit me and she had a special message for her uncle pete who invited her to join the family on the florida trip he still owes me one nice big holiday she joked stacey hopes to be home early this week lee bowled over the last thing lee kea expected the day after his 40th birthday was a surprise party especially since his wife sue had already thrown a party for his family on the day itself when he arrived home on april 19th he was amazed to find the house full of friends and neighbors some of whom had dressed for the occa sion in shirts ties jackets soccer shorts and socks the top half of the ensemble thesubject of parentteacher groups and their role in raising money for schools they were doing a segment on educa tion and part of that was i jut fund rais ing she explained they were con cerned that some of the home and schools they had been talking to were having to raise money to buy desks and text books for the classrooms i told him that was not the case at orchard park and that we raised funds for the enhance ment of the school rather than for neces sities the interview was filmed in front of the new playground equipment which was purchased last year with funds raised by the home and winters who was elected region chairman of region 45 at the lions inter national oshawa convention on aprii 22 tom joined the lions club of stouffville in 1983 and has maintained a perfect attendance
