superintendent ron gibson and the 21year veteran with the knack for getting along with people says hell miss the every day exchanges with town residents after hes retired ill miss the people thats for sure says the 60yearold mr gibson who took on the job in 1968 after 14 years spent in maintenance and public works at queens park if you got one thank you a week but of 300 calls that was always enough mr gibson claims he always tried to be responsive to citizens who phoned him with suggestions or complaints you let them have their say after all youre dealing with the people who are paying pride in the fact his department has never had an accident and he attributes much of that safety record to his staff ive got a very good group of employees some have been here 15 years as of late mr gibsons staff in cludes 10 fulltime people along with two summer employees bor rowed from the towns recrea tion centre and eight parttime summer students he feels his job requires pa tience in dealing
