at the mar- kham theatre for the per forming arts included in this one night performance will be the un- ionville high school choir directed by diana wasilenko- mele and the king city vocal ensemble directed by amy gilbert who will be joined by organist michael bloss and the orchestra in excerpts from handels messiah the king city vocal ensem ble was founded at king city secondary school by mrs mita hoffer in 1985 the subse quent year saw it become a part of the curriculum with additional students participat ing on a extracurricular basis the group performs each year for senior commence ment a christmas concert the annual tour of the local elementary schools area nursing homes as well as the musical highlight of the school year the annual kcss music night last year under the joint direction of mrs hoffer and mrs amy gilbert the choir earned a superior rating at the york regional music festiv al held annually in newmar ket and travelled to winnipeg to participate in a music ex
