stouffville has graduated from the university of ottawa receiving a bachelor of social science degree with concen tration in criminology late walter todd a family tradition walter todd last surviving member of the family of george and elizabeth todd died suddenly may 28 as the result of a heart attack mr todd was cutting grass at his new home in uxbridge at the time he was 73 born at goodwood walter continued to reside there until two years ago when he and wife florence moved to uxbridge they wished to be closer to their son and daugh terinlaw bob and gloria and grand daughters connie and karen walt and florence had been looking for ward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary next february until 1967 walter had been a partner with his father and brother gordon in todds produce growing and shipping vegetables of all kinds in the early years and finally specializing in potatoes he had many entertaining stories to tell about the trucking business in ontario dur ing its pioneer years when the family business closed walter went to work at the ontario hospital in whitby and remained there until his retire ment however he was not content to re main idle he became very adept at wood working walter was active in the community as a young man he played hockey lacrosse and baseball with goodwood teams during the 1930s and 40s he served as master of both the goodwood orange lodge and stouffvil- les richardson masonic lodge he was a member of the old uxbridge township pub lic school area board before the advent of regionalization he had a lifelong interest in politics working diligently to elect many conservative mps and mpps in ontario county ridings over the years service was held may 30 from lows funeral home uxbridge with interment uxbridge cemetery the chapel was filled to overflowing besides his wife the former florence snowball he is survived by his son and daughterinlaw bob and gloria and granddaughters connie and karen he was predeceased by brothers jack
