printing of the weekender on the front page was an article about the expansion of buns master bakery on bullock dr and a quotation taken from the markham mayor carol bell which was we dont want to see one bricklayer or worker there to that extent the issue is that mr reali the owner of buns master bakery has not obtained the proper building permits for the expansion of his building there are also com plaints that the satellite social club a newly opened club attended by many markham ita lians was considered a snack bar because they used to sell potato chips and a few chocolate bars i think thats garbage because whats wrong with some snacks being sold at the club is the sky going to fall are the local becker stores going to go bankrupt be cause of the loss of business ive watched mayor bell on channel 10 classicom television and how she takes credit for the landing of the major hyundai 3 warehouse on hwy 7 and wood bine ave and other major com panies which have chosen our markham as a place of business now she turns around and stops a markham firm from expanding its got to work both ways mayor bell or else its not fair if mr reali was given the ok for the presently established building whats the difference if hes given the ok for the rest indirectly you are mayor bell putting peo ple out of work because the expan sion of the building would employ everyone from bricklayers to finishing painters the way its turning out its making it look like mayor bell doesnt really want development in markham i think any business man who is thinking of building in markham is going to look over his options one more time now i hope that mayor bell will get her act together and give small businesses in markham a break because if she doesnt i think her days as markham mayor are far away as california and vancouver many reunions took place throughout the afternoon and evening for those on the centennial committee the day was the cul mination of many months of plan ning and the results were re warding thank you the centennial committee franklin street ps markham theatre needs proper signs dear sir the markham theatre for per forming arts is quickly becoming one of my favorite haunts it is not only a beautiful facility for the performing arts but this year it is outdoing itself with a superb line up of performances i do have one complaint and i feel it is a major one when will the town council give it due recog nition by putting up proper signs to indicate how to get into the theatre parking lot i know there are signs there now but they are small insignificant and poorly placed if you have had to pick up a stu dent in the back of unionville high school at the same time as a performance is about to take place at the theatre youll under stand my frustration at watching all the people trying to park at the back of the theatre when there is ample parking right out front the markham theatre is a class operation lets not make them walk in the back door judi
