migration while it nodded its head rhyth mically as if to say yes yes yes this is stouffville the com munity without any imagination that moves steadily backwards while everyone else moves forwards but fly on my fellow birds and well soon leave it far behind us while i was watching the thing bobbed its way around and pointed its long neck to the north and i then imagined the geese returning in the spring and bringing with them all of the new life and resurrection that comes with their northern migration this thought made me feel hopeful and glad and more imaginative and as i watched the thing moving continually i was certain it was a new concept in weathervanes and then my imagination began to dwell on all manner of winds and trees and grass and waves and clouds moving with them and but space does not allow me to dwell on all the glorious and free thoughts the mobile aroused within me and i cannot understand how there has been some ridicule and criticism from the stouffville residents regarding this artistic creation but i suppose neanderthal minds still exist almost everywhere if stouffville does not want this thing i am certain it would be welcomed by the more progressive people in pickering who would plant it outside of the town hall on the kingston road where the thousands of passersby could view its beauty and it could nod its head s if to say yes yes yes my fellow birds this is where we truly belong in pickering where almost everybody is progressive imaginative and eagerly moving towards the twentyfirst century wake up stouffville this mobile is the most alive thing ive seen in your town during my fifty years of now and then visitations 1 john livingstone rri locust hill anniversary celebration of the gormley missionary church november 2 3 4
