i was a dairy farmer in eastern on tario during the diefenbaker era farmers out west could not sell their grain silos were full and grain was stored in big piles right in the field for lack of proper storage millions of pounds of butter were going rancid in montreal because there was no market for it imagine my surprise when i read a small ar ticle in the local paper announcing the trade of 10 million dollars worth of american farm surplus were being traded for vi million dollars of pig lead from bc mining and smelting after many letters and telephone calls i was assured this surplus farm produce would not enter canada but would replace canadian products in south america and spain the real interesting part was the cosy relationship between mr fitzpatrick president of bc mining and
