have lived there fifty years on saturday this wellknown and highlyrespected couple celebrated their golden wed ding anniversary to mark the occasion a reception in their honor was held at fernandos in the village shoppes markham many people attended some from a distance mr hornshaw was born at green river the son of fred and hester hornshaw mrs horn shaw the former muriel spears was born in toronto but moved with her parents adam and jessie spears to atha at an early age her father served as reeve of pickering township they both attended green river public school but not at the same time they also attended green river baptist church harold and muriel became more formally acquainted following a new years eve party at greys hall green river they were married in weston nov 17 1928 the couple
