on taxpayers developer tony kugler will be asked by whitchurch stouffville planning board to share the cost of a bearing relating to bis proposed subdivision of 13 homes j the development would be located on the sixth concession just below the vivian side road until the recent escalation in the number of bearings the town customarily bore the expense lately it has been requesting developers to pick up the tab council supports mr kuglers plan in the face of opposition from faulkner avenue residents their ob jections prompted the ministry of housing to postpone final approval of the decision pending an omb decision the move to ap proach the developer came after a letter from the ministry noting the hearing would be required was brought to the councillors attention councillor june button asked if mr kugler could not be assessed the cost of the bearing she noted it costs the town a lot of money for these some councillors felt it would have been more appropriate to have approached mr kugler at an earlier date but planning board chair man eldred king thought it would be worthwhile speaking with mr kugler pinballghop owner wants sunday opening uxbridge a bowling alley and pinball store are not the same things planning com mittee told john rolling last week mr rolling was asking the committee to allow him to keep his pinball shop open on sundays the bowling alley m town is open on sunday why then cant i mr rolling owner of the shop said police were at his store last sunday to see if he was complying with the bylaw he reasoned that nothing is stated m the bylaw about sunday closing ive always been open before both councillors alan wells and norm lyons said the bylaw does state there would be no sunday openings the bylaw sets down the times from monday to saturday there is no mention of sunday so the store should be closed mr wells said however it was because no mention of sunday was given that mr rolling thought i could be open because of the dif ference of opinion mr wells recommended that the committee get a legal opinion of the bylaw and to allow mr rolling to keep his store open on sundays until the opinion is given the motion was earned the tribune thursday concerned about the report s recom mendations on busing the paper en courages the busing of children to halfempty schools rather than building new ones in growth area anne rickwood feared with new growth in unionville and no possibility of an addition to unionville ps the children already being bused there would be sent to other schools to make room for the new students mrs yaworsky noted the of uxbridge lands affected purpose and effect present zoning proposed zoning v this bylaw which amends restricted area bylaw number 1517 as other wise amended applies to the whole of the area known as the former cor poration of thetownship of uxbridge which now forms part of the present corporation of the township of uxbridge the purpose of bylaw no 7747 is to establish new zoning and criteria for extractive industrial operations by i repealing bylaw numbers 1589 1611 1613 1634 1654 and 1669 all of which were previously enacted to amend bylaw no 1517 for such a purpose ii establishing new definitions for pit wayside pit public authority portable processing plant as well as amending certain definitions to take extractive operations into account iii requiring that all new development or redevelopment except residential uses and farming operations be subect to the development control provisions of section 35a of the planning act iv a increasing the yard dimensions and planting strip requirements applicable to extractive operations and b relaxing the new yard dimensions and planting strip requirements applicable to adjoining extractive operations v establishing an aggregate processing m5 zone wherein such uses as crushing plants batching plants and aggregate screening or washing plants are permitted vi replacing the prior zoning maps with new key maps 1 2 and 3 forming schedule a to byiaw number 77- and in so doing recognizing for ex tractive operations and related activities and uses only those areas which are presently licensed under the pits and quarries control act 1971 as amended and vii confirming the zoning for all areas other than for extractive industrial operations originally set forth in bylaw number 1517 as other wise amended by bylaws numbers 1585 dwellings near extractive operations bylaw number 1517 as amended by the bylaws which are either repealed i or confirmed by bylaw number 7747 provides zoning for the whole of the j former township of uxbridge specifically with respect to extractive i operations bylaw number 1517 zoned them as quarry industrial m3f zone the amendments to bylaw number 1517 which are repealed by by- law no 7747 expanded the size of the m3 zone and in most cases included a quarry holding hm3 on the same property as well as an agricultural zone with sand and gravel potential a3 zone which designated potential sand and gravel development areas there is no development control under section 35a of the planning act presently in force with the exception of a few minor exceptions i lor i bylaw number 7747 will rezone from restricted agricultural a general agricultural a2 and rural residential rr zones to quar industrial aa3 zones only those areas which are licenced under the plvj and quarries control act 1971 as amended the only minor exception to this consists of some small recently rehabilitated areas which due to thelr proximity to extractive operations remain in an aa3 zone category until surrounding lands are also rehabilitated ii the areas zoned as aggregate processing aa5 quarry industrial ex ception no 1 aa31 and aggregate processing exception no 1 aa51 zones have not changed from previous zoning designations and are re- enacted by bylaw number 7747 ill the bylaws amending bylaw no 1517 are by bylaw 7747 either repealed entirely or are repealed in part with some portions reenacted or they are confirmed iv subject to the above all other zoning in the area known as the former township of uxbridge remains the same
