and was a graduate of royal military college in kingston serving with the royal artillery hollinrake was a battle- experienced veteran of world war i after demobilization he studied law and practised in toronto until the start of world war ii in 1939 when he abandoned his law career to join the army again at the time he was commander of a royal canadian army militia unit but authorities decided he was the man to command no 2 district depot at exhibition park in toronto hollinrake returned to his law practice at wars end and was ap pointed a magistrate in 1947 he received the order of the
